When establishing a company

There are many global issues facing the planet we live on, such as climate change and global warming. In order to solve these issues, we believe that achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is a responsibility that must be fulfilled at all costs for humanity.
Anyone can see that all activities aimed at achieving the SDGs are meaningful and valuable actions. We will call this value "meaningful value." Meanwhile, it is clear that the products and services provided directly to us through corporate activities also have value. We will call this value "economic value."
The constant increase in "economic value" has been the foundation of capitalism until now. However, as we now face a variety of global issues, some companies are beginning to focus on and create "meaningful value." Taking global warming countermeasures as an example, Europe's CSRD and Japan's TCFD fit this description.
We wanted to create a system that would provide "economic value" commensurate with the activities of activists and organizations that create this "meaningful value." Web 3.0 holds the key to this.
Web 3.0 and its Potential
Web 3.0 is a new form of internet called the "decentralized internet."
Web 3.0
On the traditional Internet (Web 1.0, Web 2.0), personal information and data were managed centrally by companies and services, but Web 3.0 uses blockchain technology to decentralize management of this information. As a result, individuals can communicate directly with each other without going through a specific company or administrator. *There are multiple interpretations of Web 3.0, but in this article we refer to Web 3.0 as a decentralized Internet based on blockchain technology.
Key Features
Decentralized: Data and information are managed jointly by participants on the network, rather than by a specific company.
Improved security and transparency: Blockchain has the potential to increase security by making data more difficult to tamper with and allowing anyone to verify transactions and records.
Individuals are the focus: Users have ownership and control over their data and content, eliminating the need for intermediaries in service and transaction transactions.
Autonomy: Web 3.0 is governed by programs called smart contracts, which allow networks and services to operate autonomously and independently, without centralized control. Participants can also make decisions and operate autonomously based on rules (Decentralized Autonomous Organizations [DAOs]).
*Blockchain is highly tamper-resistant and increases transparency, but privacy protection is a separate issue. Appropriate design is required.
*In theory, transactions can be made without an intermediary, but in practice, there are cases where connection with a wallet provider or legal framework is required.
*DAOs are attracting attention as a new form of management, but as their legal status has not yet been established in many countries, legal regulations must be confirmed before they can be implemented.
Application to "meaning value"
For example, suppose there are people who are suffering from a certain problem and people who are working to solve it. A DAO is formed to solve this problem, a process for solving the problem is decided, and rules are created, including the reward to be paid. Based on these rules, the problem-solving team reports their activities to the DAO. The affected party evaluates the results and pays a reward.
Traditionally, this would not have been possible without forming an organization and financial institutions such as banks.
In the future, when Web 3.0 has become widespread in society, we will be able to solve problems using this kind of framework.
Finally
We understand that there are issues that cannot be resolved by pursuing economic value alone. That is why we place "meaningful value" at the heart of the economy and take on the challenge of creating a system that accelerates its creation and circulation.
We established this company as the first step to create a society where people who tackle problems are fairly rewarded by utilizing the new mechanisms brought about by technology, especially Web 3.0.
We believe that the society of the future will not be created by a handful of powerful organizations, but by the accumulation of meaningful actions by each individual. We will make that meaningful value visible and spread it to the world in a sustainable way.
